A courtyard apartment complex located just east of Paramount Pictures is slated for a conversion to a boutique hotel, according to plans filed yesterday with the City of Los Angeles.
The property, located at 5212 W. Melrose Avenue, currenty features seven residential units in a one-story structure that dates back to the early 1920s. Post-conversion, the approximately 10,000-square-foot structure would feature 18 guest rooms and a small lobby.
City records list the project's applicant as Molasky Ventures, a real estate firm based out of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Several investors have targeted the neighborhood surrounding Paramount Puctures for multifamily residential buildings in recent years. A 52-unit development is planned less than a half-mile west on Melrose Avenue.
