An Orange County-based investment firm has started work on a project that will bring new townhome-style dwellings to a property in Harbor Gateway.
Nerja Investments, the Irvine-based firm behind the new project at 15812 S. Vermont Avenue, has razed a series of small residential and commercial buildings to make way for the construction of 22 single-family dwellings.
City records indicated that Pathema Studios, also known as MOCC Group, is affiliated with the project.
Los Angeles County Assessor's records indicate that Nerja acquired the roughly 33,800-square-foot site for roughly $2.1 million in 2006.
A handful of similar townhome-style projects are also under construction in the neighboring community of Gardena.
