An industrial site located east of the Los Angeles River in Glendale could be razed and redeveloped with housing, per an application submitted in February to the city's Planning Department.
The proposed development, which would rise on the western edge of the Pacific-Edison neighborhood at 4728 San Fernando Road, calls for razing existing commercial uses to clear the way for a new 249-unit residential development.
The project is being submitted for density bonus review, meaning a portion of the proposed apartments would be set aside as deed-restricted affordable housing in exchange for waivers of certain zoning rules or other incentives.
Property records list the owner of the site as 550 Riverdale, LLC, which is managed by the president of Glendale-based Stevenson Real Estate Services.
The development site is located roughly one mile south on San Fernando Road from a property at 5426 San Fernando Road, where a large studio complex featuring 10 soundstages and offices is planned by East End Capital.
