A local real estate investment firm is in the midst of construction at a new affordable housing complex in the Florence community.

As of October 2020, wood framing for the project at 64th Street and Avalon Boulevard is largely complete.  The five-story edifice, according to building permits issued earlier this year by the City of Los Angeles, will include 28 residential units.

Los Angeles County Assessor records list the owner of the property as SoLa Impact, a South Los Angeles-based firm which buildings affordable housing using opportunity zone funds.

A landing page from the developer's website states that the apartment building will include a mix of studio and one-bedroom dwellings, as well as a rooftop amenity deck.

City records indicate that Breen Engineering is designing the project, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise structure.

Completion is expected in 2021.

SoLa Impact is currently building similar projects on Florence and Western Avenues.
