A local developer is cooking up more plans for housing in Carson.

Last week, the City of Carson issued a notice of determination for the Carson Triangle development, which would rise from a site adjacent to the 405 Freeway at 21212 Avalon Boulevard. Plans call for razing parking and commercial buildings previously used for a car dealership, clearing the way for the construction of 52 buildings containing 283 townhomes - 32 of which would be affordable units.

City records list the applicant as 1140 Avalon Blvd, LLC.

The proposal is less dense than a prior vision pitched for the site by Texas-based developer JPI, which had sought to incorporate the property into a mixed-use complex which would have created more than 1,000 homes at 21212 Avalon and another site across the street.
