Seven months after we last stopped by, the wood frame of a mixed-use apartment building is taking shape at 3741 Motor Avenue in Palms.
The six-story edifice, which replaced a small commercial building, will consist of 30 apartments atop ground-floor retail space and one level of subterranean parking. A total of three apartments are to be priced as affordable housing at the extremely low-income level.
Burbank architect Edward Carlson is designing the building, according to permit records from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
The project is among a handful of slim infill developments in progress on the same corridor, including projects at 3451, 3641, and 3766 Motor Avenue.
