A stretch of recently-demolished properties in Hollywood are slated for redevelopment with multifamily housing, per an application submitted recently to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.
The proposed development from Rom Investments, which would rise from a corner lot north of the US-101 Freeway at 1845 N. Taft Avenue, calls for the construction of a six-story building featuring 33 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above non-required parking for 48 vehicles.
Requested approvals include development incentives through the Citywide Housing Incentive Program to permit a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, four of the apartments are to be set aside for rent as affordable housing at the extremely low-income level.
Category Design Group is the architect for the project, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary podium-type building.
Rom Investments is also attached to plans for a larger 131-unit apartment complex near the Hollywood/Western Metro stop, among other infill developments in the Hollywood area.
