The first new high-rise development west of the 405 Freeway in more than four decades is nearing its peak at 11750 Wilshire Boulevard.
The 34-story building, which is being developed by real estate firm Douglas Emmett, Inc., will consist of 376 apartments - including 19 affordable units - above a 1,000-car garage that will be shared with an adjacent office building.
The project, which is called "The Landmark," is being designed by Gensler. Plans call for an all glass exterior on the 349-foot-tall high-rise, which would be inlaid with LED lighting and lined with cantilevered balconies.
At ground-level, a one-acre green space adjacent to Wilshire Boulevard would be converted into a park-like amenity space. Renderings of the planned green space, which is being designed by SWA, depict features such as tables, benches, chairs, and walking paths.
Per a landing page on the Douglas Emmett website, The Landmark is scheduled for completion in 2022.
Douglas Emmett, which is based out of Santa Monica, owns a number of high-rise office and residential properties throughout the Westside and the San Fernando Valley, including a series of buildings which surround The Landmark.
