A commercial building in Jefferson Park is slated to give way to affordable housing, according to an item recently reviewed by the neighborhood's Historic Preservation Overlay Zone board.
The proposed development from Mark Judaken, which would rise at 3206 W. Jefferson Boulevard, would consist of a six-story building featuring 35 residential units above 1,480 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. No on-site parking is proposed.
Plans call for a fully affordable development catering to low- and moderate-income renters, making the project eligible for development incentives permitting a larger building than would otherwise be allowed.
Mika Design Group, which frequently works with Judaken, is designing the project.
Judaken is also attached to mixed-income developments nearby on 11th Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard.
