Just east of Torrance city limits, a former freight rail right-of-way has been redeveloped with housing by Williams Homes.
The site, which sits in the median of Plaza Del Amo between Western Avenue to the west and Halldale Avenue to the east, has been transformed into 39 single-family homes. The homes all stand two stories in height and feature three- and four-bedroom floor plans ranging from 1,447 to 1,836 square feet in size with private yards.
Per a website for the project, which is called South Bay Village, all of the homes have already sold.
Other recent projects from Williams Homes include similar ground-up projects in San Pedro and Valley Village.
The site, which is located within the City of Los Angeles' Harbor Gateway, follows in the footsteps of a similar project which brought housing to another vacated rail line along Normandie Avenue.
