An Orange County-based real estate firm has design on the former site of a Marie Callendar's restaurant in Whittier.
Mission Pacific Land Company of Newport Beach is seeking approvals to redevelop a corner lot at 9829 La Serna Drive with 42 townhome-style condominiums, per an environmental study published by the City of Whittier. Plans call for a mix of two- and three-bedroom dwellings - each accompanied by a two-car garage.
William Hezmalhalch Architects is designing the La Serna Townhomes, which would be located in a series of three-story Mediterranean-style buildings. Hermann Design Group is the landscape architect for the project, designing its central recreation area and dog park.
Construction is expected to occur in a single phase, concluding sometime in 2023.
The project site is located roughly three miles east of the Whittier Greenway, where Downey-based Florence Homes is planning a similar residential development on Greenleaf Avenue.
