Eight months after we last stopped by, construction has progressed to the fourth and final level at Junction Santa Monica, a mixed-use development from Cypress Equity Investments.
Located a block south of the Expo Line at 1641 Lincoln Boulevard, the project will consist of 66 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with 5,300 square feet of ground-floor retail and 93 parking stalls on three basement levels.
Designed by KFA Architecture, the project is intended to resemble boxcars and rails - a nod to the nearby light rail line. Plans call for an exterior of board-formed concrete, reclaimed wood siding, metal panels, and textured glass.
Construction is on paced to be completed in late 2019.
The Junction development is one of three market-rate projects now taking shape on this stretch of Lincoln Boulevard, joining the 90-unit Catherine Santa Monica apartments at 1601 Lincoln and a 100-unit development at 1560 Lincoln.
Cypress Equity Investments is also behind plans for a similar development at Wilshire Boulevard and Centinela Avenue.
