In Green Meadows, construction is currently in progress for yet another permanent supportive housing complex from RMG Housing.

Earlier this year, the Hermosa Beach-based firm commenced work on a new project at 10400 S. San Pedro Street, which will rise at the site of Southside Bethel Baptist Church. Plans call for the construction of a five-story building featuring 47 one-bedroom apartments.

City records list Brian Noteware as the architect for the project, which is portrayed in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise structure.

The new affordable housing complex got a shot in the arm last year, SDS Capital Group an $8-million loan to go toward development costs. SDS has invested heavily in RMG's projects, and has raised $150 million for similar supportive housing developments. That private-sector financing is unique in that it requests per-unit development costs to not exceed $200,000 - far below the average price tag for most subsidized developments.

Southside Bethel Baptist Church, which has been located at the intersection of 104th and San Pedro Streets for more than 60 years, will be sticking around in a different form. The new development will incorporate a 1,700-square-foot community room that will double as a sanctuary for church services and other events.

RMG Housing is developing at least 10 similar projects across the City of Los Angeles.
