Just east of the 110 Freeway in Chinatown, construction is underway for a pair of multifamily residential developments.

The first, located at 708 N. Depot Street, will consist of a six-story building featuring 33 apartments atop two levels of subterranean parking.  A rendering depicts a contemporary low-rise structure with cantilevered balconies fronting New Depot.

The second project, located on an adjacent hillside site at 849 Bunker Hill Avenue, consists of a five-story edifice which will feature 37 apartments above a two-level basement garage.  Renderings portray another contemporary low-rise structure with insets and used to create private terraces for residents.

Both developments are being developed by Sina and David Mehdyzadeh and designed by Labyrinth Design Studio.

The new development replaces two smaller apartment buildings.

The project sites sit across the 110 Freeway from a vacant lot at 959 E. Stadium Way, where a six-story, 158-unit apartment building is planned.
