An urgent care center located on busy Lincoln Boulevard in Playa Vista is up for redevelopment with an eldercare facility, according to an application submitted last month to the L.A. Department of City Planning.
The project site, which sits just south of Ballona Creek and 5450 Lincoln Boulevard, was developed with the existing medical facility in 2000. Guven Uzun of Orion West Group, LLC, listed as the owner and applicant behind the new project, is seeking city approvals for the construction of a new five-story building featuring 75 residential units - including 55 independent living apartments and 20 rooms for dementia patients. Parking for 69 vehicles would be located within a two-level podium.
Cataldo Architects is designing the building, which is portrayed with a contemporary look in a rendering. Plans show a rooftop deck, a club room, and a community room, among other amenities for residents.
The project is one of several senior-focused developments in the Playa Vista area, including the Fountainview at Gonda and the nearby Ivy Park facility.
The site also abuts the Water's Edge office campus, which recently added a third building that is fully leased by Nike.
