A property just west of the Rubio Wash in San Gabriel is set for redeveloping with housing, according to an environmental notice.
The project site, a vacant lot at 824 S. Gladys Avenue, is being developed by Orange County-based Olson Homes. Plans call for a collection of three-story building featuring 80 residential units with parking for 165 vehicles.
Project entitlements include density bonus incentives to permit a larger development than would otherwise be allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, four of the homes would be set aside for very low-income households.
KTGY is designing the project, which would include a mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units in a series of Mediterranean Revival style buildings. A shared open space would be located at the center of the property.
The project would rise directly across Gladys Avenue, construction is currently underway for the Pacific Square development, which will include 243 homes over ground-floor commercial space.
