Two years after starting work in Gardena, developer Melia Homes continues with construction of a new for-sale housing complex at the eastern edge of the city.

Moneta Pointe, located on a roughly four-acre property at 13615-13633 S. Vermont Avenue, is named after the site's former occupant: the Moneta Nursery. In the place of the longtime business, Melia Homes is developing 16 buildings featuring a total of 84 residential units.

Summa Architecture designed the project, which consists of three-story buildings featuring mostly two-, three-, and four-bedroom dwellings. Moneta Pointe will also feature two designated affordable units, which would feature just one bedroom each.

Parking for more than 200 vehicles is included in the project through surface stalls and enclosed garages within the buildings.

According to a project website, sales prices for Moneta Pointe start in the $700,000s.

Recent years have brought a handful of similar townhome developments to sites across Gardena, many of which are being built by local homebuilder G3 Urban.
