It has been nearly one year since developer Jamison Services, Inc. razed several small buildings to make way for a new development at 8th Street and Harvard Boulevard. Now, the wood frame has begun to rise above ground.

The mixed-use project will offer 131 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, including 11 units set aside for very-low-income households. The ground floor will feature 7,000 square feet of commercial space, and a two-level subterranean garage will provide 214 parking spaces. Amenities include a roof deck, courtyards, and a fitness room.

Large Architecture is designing the six-story podium-type building, which will feature porcelain tile accents on a plaster facade.

A few blocks to the east, construction is underway on The Rise Koreatown - a seven-story building with 369 apartments and 52,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
