Two years after beginning work in Koreatown, an adaptive reuse project from Jamison Services, Inc. is making visible progress at 3921 Wilshire Boulevard.
The seven-story building, completed in the late 1950s, is slated to reopen next year as a 109-unit apartment complex.
City records indicate that Archeon Group is designing the conversion. A rendering shows that the columns of the mid-century structure painted yellow, with wood panels attached to its Wilshire Boulevard frontage.
The project, slated for completion in April 2020, is across the street from another Jamison Services development - a ground-up apartment complex at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Wilton Place.
One block east, Jamison is planning to redevelop a parking lot behind the Wilshire Professional Building with 227 apartments.
The 3921 Wilshire development is one of five adaptive reuse projects Jamison currently has in progress on the Wilshire corridor.
