Logos Faith Development is planning another affordable housing complex on land owned by a religious institution in Watts - this time using prefabricated modular units.

The modular units, which are being built by Los Angeles-based manufacturer Model/Z, will be used in the construction of a new five-story development at 105th Street and Central Avenue. Per a representative of Logos, the project is to be located at 1198 E. 105th Street, and will include 91 apartments.

The proposed project, which Logos says will commence work in 2026 and open for residents before year's end, is part of a development pipeline valued at more than $500 million and includes over 2,000 homes.

Model/Z's modular units, which are manufactured in Compton, are approximately 420 square feet in size and designed to meet HUD Section 8 and ADA rules, per a news release. The facility produces 2.5 units per day, and has capacity for up to 5,000 units per year.

The project site is located a short distance south of the intersection of 103rd Street and Central Avenue, where Logos is developing a larger 134-unit affordable housing complex.
