Last week, Los Angeles County officials and nonprofit developer Mercy Housing broke ground on Baldwin Rose Family Veteran Housing, a 54-unit affordable housing complex for formerly homeless and low-income veterans in El Monte.
The project, located at Bessie and Baldwin Avenues, will feature six buildings offering one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments priced for individuals making between 30 and 50 percent of the area median income. Rents at the property will range between $488 and $1,173 per month.
TCA Architects is designing the project, with landscape design by TGP Landscape Architects. Renderings show contemporary buildings, integrated with outdoor green space.
The development is budgeted at approximately $31 million.
