The Retirement Housing Foundation is putting the finishing touches on its new housing development near Metro's Expo/Crenshaw Station

Crenshaw Gardens, located at 3411 Crenshaw Boulevard, consists of a five-story building featuring 49 apartments above 5,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a 68-car garage.  The mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom dwellings will be set aside for families making at or below 30 to 50 percent of the area median income, with rents set between $466 and $1,295 per month.

Lahmon Architects designed the low-rise structure, which builds upon the abutting neighborhood of Spanish Colonial style houses by using an exterior of smooth white plaster around a central courtyard  A steel-tiled stair tower which marks the building's main entrance.

The project was at approximately $26 million.

RHF also built the Crenshaw Villas, a similar mixed-use building located near the intersection of Crenshaw and Adams Boulevard.
