A vacant property in western Woodland Hills is set to give way to affordable housing, per a new application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.
The project, slated for a site at 23022 W. Ventura Boulevard, is proposed by Los Angeles-based Samuelian Group. Plans call for the new construction of a seven-story building featuring 96 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with parking for 63 vehicles.
Requested approvals include city affordable housing incentives to permit a larger building than would otherwise be allowed by zoning rules. The project would reserve all apartments, save for an on-site manager's unit, as low- and moderate-income housing to be eligible for the incentives.
DFH Architects is designing the contemporary podium-type building, which is named Valleris on Ventura.
The project would rise directly east of a property at 23036 W. Ventura Boulevard where a similar 100-unit affordable housing complex was recently developed.
Samuelian Group is planning similar affordable housing developments at sites located in central Los Angeles.
