One block north of Santa Monica Boulevard and Hollywood Forever Cemetery, affordable housing is set to rise on the former site of a 1920s duplex, according to a new filing with the L.A. Department of City Planning.
The project from Yuan Liu of 1200 Gordon Holding, LLC, slated for a site at 5965 W. Lexington Avenue, calls for the construction of a seven-story edifice featuring 52 apartments without on-site parking.
Plans call for a mix of low- and moderate-income housing, making the project eligible for local development incentives permitting a larger building than could have otherwise been permitted.
Commun Associates is designing the contemporary podium-type building, which plans show as clad in stucco.
The project site is located a few blocks to the west of the Echelon Studios complex, which is currently under construction at 5601 Santa Monica Boulevard, and south of Sunset Gower Studios.
