A presentation recently reviewed by the Norwalk Planning Commission offers a look at a proposal to bring affordable housing to a property east of the Santa Ana Freeway.
The project, proposed by Abbey Road, would rise from a property at 11606 Firestone Boulevard. Plans call for the construction of a new four-story building featuring 90 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for low- and extremely low-income households with subterranean parking for 80 vehicles.
Brooks Scarpa Huber is designing the contemporary low-rise development, which in addition to housing, would include a community room with kitchen, laundry rooms and offices for management and supportive services staff.
Per a landing page on the Abbey Road website, other members of the project team include Penny Lane Centers, which will provide on-site services for residents, and EAH Housing, which will manage the building.
Other upcoming projects from Abbey Road include a similar affordable housing complex off of Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills.
