Meta Housing Corp. has plans for yet another affordable housing development in Pasadena, according to a presentation to the City's Design Commission.
Slated for a commercial site at 2000 E. Colorado Boulevard, the project calls for the construction of a new six-story building featuring 144 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments (including one market-rate manager's unit) with parking for 64 vehicles.

The project, as a 100 percent affordable housing development, is utilizing density bonus incentives to grant concessions from certain zoning rules. Target income levels for the project are not stated in a staff report or in plans.
Studio One Eleven is designing the project, which would sit at Colorado's intersection with San Marino Avenue. Plans call for amenities lining the ground level along Colorado and street-fronting townhome units facing San Marino.

"The building is designed in a generally contemporary style with flat roofs, repeating projecting and recessed building volumes, stacked punched openings and a combination of contemporary materials including cement plaster, accent brick, and metal screening," reads the project's staff report.
The presentation to the Design Commission is for a preliminary review, and formal approval is not expected at this point in time.
The project is located across the street and one block to the west of another Meta Housing project planned at 2155 E. Colorado Boulevard. A project website also indicates a third project is in the works for a nearby site at 1976 E. Colorado Boulevard.
