Just north of Slauson Avenue in Hyde Park, wood framing is on the rise for an affordable housing complex from HVN Development.

Located on the former site of two single-family homes at 5749-5753 S. Brynhurst Avenue, the project is to consist of a four-story building featuring 53 two- and three-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.

According to plans included with the case filing, the project would cater to households at the low- and moderate-income levels, as is the case with all HVN projects.

Stockton Architects is designing 5749 Brynhurst, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary stucco-clad building.

The site sits just northwest of two properties along Slauson Avenue which are being redeveloped with similar multifamily residential buildings.
