Affordable housing under construction at 12461 Louise Ave. in Del Rey

In Del Rey, work is underway for a new affordable housing complex just off of Centinela Avenue.

The new project from Sherman Oaks-based MDNI, located on a narrow lot at 12461 W. Louise Avenue, calls for the construction of a five-story building featuring 60 apartments. No on-site parking is proposed.

City records indicate that JZA Architecture is designing the apartment complex.

An 18-month construction timeline is estimated for the project, followed by a four-month lease-up period, according to a landing page on the MDNI website.

A larger affordable housing complex from Passo is now taking shape a short walk to the north along Centinela Avenue.
