Across the street from the Vermont/Beverly subway station, exterior work is well underway on AMCAL Multi Housing's Meridian Apartments.
The four-story building, located at 215 N. Vermont Avenue, will feature 100 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments set aside for households making between 30 and 50 percent of the Los Angeles area median income. Rents will be set between $458 and $1,272 per month for the mixed-use develompent, which also includes approximately 4,000 square feet of street-fronting commercial space.
Santa Monica's Killefer Flammang Architects designed the low-rise edifice, which will be clad with a mixture of cement plaster, ceramic tile and perforated metal panels.
The project is scheduled for completion in Fall 2017, and was funded in part through the Vermont Towers completed by J.H. Snyder Co. in 2015.
