Next door to the World Trade Center in Downtown Long Beach, wood framing is nearly complete for a new development from Trammell Crow Residential and R&V Management.
The first two phases of Alexan West End, which replaced a large parking lot at 600 Broadway will include a total of 600 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in four buildings which range from seven to eight stories in height.
Studio One Eleven designed the complex, which will break up the development site through the addition of internal streets and pedestrian paths. Besides housing, plans call for amenities including a fitness center, a swimming pool and spa, and a rooftop deck.
TCR also has approval for a third phase which would increase the total site to 750 residential units through the construction of a high-rise apartment tower at the western edge of the property.
In addition to a location directly north of the World Trade Center, the property also sits due east of a similar 142-unit apartment complex which opened for residents in 2022 at the intersection of Broadway and Magnolia Avenue.
TCR is also working with Studio One Eleven on a pair of large apartment complexes near the A Line in Arcadia, and has plans for a 682-unit development at the former site of the Downtown Glendale Sears.
