An apartment complex with ground-floor medical offices could replace a small commercial building in Beverly Grove, according to plans posted by the Mid City West Neighborhood Council.
The proposed development, submitted in August to the City of Los Angeles for review, would rise just south of Burton Way at 412-418 S. Robertson Boulevard. The project applicant - Dr. Ebi Soroudi - has envisioned the construction of a four-story edifice featuring 38 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, accompanied by approximately 3,000 square feet of medical office space.
The building is being designed by architect Babak Bardi Chaharmahali, is tailored to comply with the Transit Oriented Communities affordable housing guidelines, with increased height and decreased setbacks in return for on-site affordable units. Architectural plans show a rooftop deck and a three-level, 46-car garage beneath the building.
Though the proposed apartment complex is slightly taller than most of its surroundings, it will not even rank as the tallest building on its block. That title goes to an under-construction six-story development on the neighboring property at 426 S. Robertson Boulevard.
Farther north across Burton Way, work is also underway for a 12-story Four Seasons Branded condo tower.
