Plans for an Encino branch of the Armenian Cultural Foundation took a small but important step last month with the initiation of a planning case with the City of Los Angeles.
The Glendale-based organization signed a 30-year lease agreement with the City of Los Angeles in 2014 to inhabit an abandoned fire station at 5001 N. Balboa Boulevard in Encino. ACF would be responsible for all maintenance and tenant improvements reported the Los Angeles Daily News at the time.
The nondescript one-story building has been vacant since 2006, when existing operations were relocated to a new facility across the street.
A timeline for the project is unclear.
