A series of LED panels have been activated on the crown of AVEN, allowing the 38-story apartment tower to light up the Downtown skyline.
The project, built by Mack Real Estate Group and AECOM Capital at the northeast corner of 12th Street and Grand Avenue, features 536 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and parking for 801 vehicles. Rents range from $2,330 per month for a studio unit to as much as $19,530 per month for a penthouse.
The AC Martin-designed development is highlighted by a large podium amenity deck which includes an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a beach volleyball court, and a half-court basketball court. A second amenity deck located more than 30 floors up the building features a grove of citrus trees.
The tower opens to new green space located at a mid-block site along Grand Avenue. The mostly hardscaped area, which is being designed by Rios Clementi Hale Studios, is privately owned but will be publicly accessible.
Swinerton is serving as the project's general contractor.
AVEN is the second development completed by Mack Real Estate Group and AECOM in Downtown, following the WREN apartments at the corner of Pico Boulevard and Olive Street. The companies are planning additional apartment towers at the corner of Olive and 11th Street, and a hotel next-door to AVEN.
