Steps from the L.A. Waterfront in San Pedro, concrete pillars are rising at the future site of Beacon Landing, a new permanent supportive housing development from Abode Communities.

Located at 311-345 N. Beacon Street, the project will eventually consist of a four-story building featuring 90 studio apartments catering to homeless individuals, a 10-car garage, and on-site supportive services. Other project components will include a community room and kitchen, and outdoor patio, a laundry facility, and landscaped outdoor recreational space.

Onsite supportive services will be provided by LA Family Housing.

The entire building will consist of studio apartments, half of which are to be reserved for persons experiencing physical, mental, or developmental disabilities, and the remaining which will be general affordable units. The apartments at Beacon Landing are to be priced for households earning up to 30 percent of the area median income level.

Abode Communities is also serving as architect for the project, which will be built with prefabricated modular units.

The approximately $39-million project is scheduled to open in Summer 2023.
