A proposal to redevelop a school bus parking facility in Midtown Long Beach is finally moving forward.
On March 23, the City of Long Beach issued a notice of determination approving plans for a new five-story, 194-unit affordable housing development located at 2400-2450 and 2490 Long Beach Boulevard.
City records indicate that the project would include a variety of unit types, geared for families, as well as 5,622 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.
A rendering of the project, which is being designed by The Architects Collective, depicts the finished development as a contemporary low-rise structure.
City records list the development of the apartment complex as the Richard Todd Family.
The project joins a handful of similar affordable and supportive housing developments that have recently been built along the A Line's right-of-way on Long Beach Boulevard, such as the Vistas del Puerto apartments, which debuted earlier this year near PCH Station.
