In Downtown Long Beach, wood framing is nearing its peak at the site of Broadstone Promenade, new a mixed-use apartment complex from Arizona-based developer Alliance Residential.

Located at 127 E. Broadway, the project consists of an eight-story building which will feature 189 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments at completion. Plans also call for 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 257 parking spaces in a three-level subterranean garage.

Studio T-Square 2 is designing Broadstone Promenade, which  is depicted in a rendering with an exterior lined with cantilevered balconies. The apartment complex will also include amenity decks for residents at its roof level and above its third floor.

According to a narrative released by Studio T-Square 2, the design of the apartment complex is intended to evoke the Long Beach waterfront, with an illuminated tower in the vein of a lighthouse and an undulating canopy above its ground level inspired by waves on a beach.

At the time of its groundbreaking, Broadstone Promenade was expected to open sometime in 2023.

The project site sits a block west of Aster, a similar mixed-use project now being built on Long Beach Boulevard, and a new high-rise complex from Onni Group that features apartments, retail, and an extended-stay hotel between 3rd Street and Broadway.

Broadstone Promenade also sits a short walk south along the Promenade from the City Place mall, much of which is slated for redevelopment with mixed-use buildings featuring 900 apartments above ground-floor commercial space.
