The wood frame of a mixed-use development is now taking shape north of Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, as seen in images taken by an Urbanize reader.

The project, called Millennium Santa Monica, is now rising at the former site of a mobile home park at 2930 Colorado Avenue.  The connection of five-story buildings will feature 356 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments - including 38 units of affordable housing - seated atop 25,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space.

The form and layout of the project, which is being designed by Santa Monica architect Michael W. Folonis, is apparent when seen from above.

Dinerstein Cos., the real estate developer behind the Millennium project, expects to complete construction in Summer 2019.

Houston-based Dinerstein recently cleared a property near SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne for the construction of a similar mixed-use building.
