Months of rumors have been confirmed: citizenM is coming to Downtown Los Angeles.

The L.A. Business Journal reports that the Amsterdam-based chain has purchased a 20,000-square-foot parking lot at the corner of 4th and Spring Streets in the Historic Core for $13.5 million.  The property, located at the northwest corner of the intersection, is currently being entitled for development by Blvd Hospitality.

Plans for the rectangular site call for an 11-story, 131-foot-tall building that would feature 315 guest rooms with 81 parking spaces, meeting rooms and amenities.  Some parking accommodations would be provided within an existing garage located next-door to the property.

HLW International is designing the proposed mid-rise structure, which would feature a modern grid-like window pattern, as well as an exterior of concrete and anodized aluminum panels.  Murals are planned on all sides of the building, a standard of CitizenM hotels.

The corner of 4th and Spring is already home to a number of ongoing development.  East across Spring, the historic Banco Popular building is being converted into 188 apartments.  South across 4th, a 180-key Cambria Hotel and a 35-story condo tower are now taking shape.

The project is citizenM's second in the Los Angeles area, joining a proposed 14-story development near Hollywood & Vine.
