A city-owned site in West Hollywood is up for redevelopment with affordable housing.

The city is now circulating a request for proposals for the site at 1047-1057 N. Crescent Heights Boulevard, which it acquired in early 2023. Current improvements include a roughly 1,500-square-foot single-family home - completed in 1924 - as well as a 700-square-foot accessory dwelling unit. Both buildings are vacant.

The site, which is zoned R3A, is being targeted for an affordable housing development featuring at least 40 dwelling units - all ranging from 400 to 800 square feet in size.  An eligible project should also be fully electric and incorporate electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Developers seeking to build on the site are required to submit their proposals by 2 pm on June 25. An award date is expected in late July, with City Council approval of the contract anticipated on August 19.

The site, which does not include the large vacant parcel at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Crescent Heights, would rise a short distance to the southwest from a predominantly market-rate building proposed at 8025 Santa Monica Boulevard.
