Just south of the 3rd Street in Beverly Grove, wood framing is complete for a new co-living apartment complex from Los Angeles-based developer Cypress Equity Investments.
Located one block east of the Beverly Center at 8377 Blackburn Avenue, the project consists of a four-story building which will feature 28 residential units. Per a project description on the CEI website, the apartments will include a total of 140 bedrooms, which are to be rented out separately.
As the project was approved without making use of Transit Oriented Communities or density bonus incentives, no on-site affordable units are required.
DFH Architects is designing the building, which his portrayed in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise structure clad in brick. In addition to housing, plans call for resident amenities such as coworking space, a fitness center, a rooftop deck, and a community dining hall.
The project site sits one block southeast of the intersection of 3rd Street and Flores Avenue, where city officials recently signed off on the construction of a larger mixed-use apartment complex, and just east of a site at 400 San Vicente Boulevard, where yet another residential-retail development is also in the works.
Besides its project in Beverly Grove, Cypress Equity Investments is also in the midst of construction at multifamily residential developments in Echo Park and Santa Monica.
