This week, the Los Angeles City Council will consider a proposal that could lead to complete streets improvements for Pacific Coast Highway in the Wilmington community.
The proposal, which originated from a motion introduced this past March by 15th District Councilmember Joe Buscaino, focuses on an approximately 4.5-mile stretch of PCH between Western Avenue and the Los Angeles - Long Beach border. If adopted, the City would request that Caltrans conduct a comprehensive study of current travel conditions along the corridor, potentially leading to changes intended to improve conditions for cyclists, pedestrians, transit riders and motorists per a report from the City's Chief Legislative Analyst.
The CLA has recommended that the Council adopt the motion.
Additional details are currently unclear.
