CenterCal Properties and Long Beach officials convened today for the official groundbreaking for 2nd & PCH, an open-air retail complex overlooking the Long Beach Marina.
The project, named for its location at the corner of 2nd Street and Pacific Coast Highway, will feature 220,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space in a collection of one-and-two-story buildings. Whole Foods Market has signed on as an anchor tenant for the mall.
Construction is expected to occur over approximately 16 months, placing 2nd & PCH's completion date as sometime in 2019.
CenterCal was also behind an ambitious plan to remake the Redondo Beach waterfront, which was thrown into legal limbo after residents passed a ballot initiative in opposition to the project.
