Jamison Services, Inc. continues to make progress at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Ardmore Avenue in Koreatown, where the prolific developer is converting another 1950s office tower into rental housing.
The building, addressed at 3540 Wilshire Boulevard, stands 13 stories tall. The adaptive reuse project now under construction will transform the mid-rise structure into 206 dwelling units, while retaining existing retail space.
Renderings of the finished product depict the building re-skinned with red panels at its northwest corner.
Corbel Architects is designing the project, which is on pace for completion in late 2020.
Just south of 3540 Wilshire, Jamison has built five levels of wood-frame construction above a two-story parking garage as part of a related housing development. That project, located at 678 S. Ardmore Avenue, will feature 123 residential units upon completion - currently on pace to occur in mid-2020.
DFH Architects is designing the new construction.
The project bears many similarities to the Crosby, another Jamison Services development which transformed a historic office tower at Wilshire and Catalina Street into housing while adding new levels to an adjoining parking garage.
