Over a decade after announcing their plans to build an expansion of TenTen Wilshire in City West, Amidi Group's development is finally under construction.
Located at 1027 Wilshire, a nine-story structure will rise in the place of a 37,000 square foot parking lot. The $180-million project will consist of 376 live/work apartments, ground floor commercial space, and amenities.
The original plans proposed in 2006 called for a 52-story tower, but fell through after the global financial crisis. The current plan is more akin to the size of TenTen Wilshire - a 16-story office building that Amidi Group converted into 227 residential rental units in 2007.
The project is being designed by El Segundo-based firm, Bijan & Associates. It will feature amenities including a fitness center, a theater room, a rooftop deck, and an 800-car parking garage.
Completion is anticipated in 2020.
In addition to 1027 Wilshire, Amidi Group currently has plans to build another mixed-use project in City West on Ingraham Street.
