The first of several tower cranes is now in place at the Century Plaza development, as Woodridge Capital prepares to go vertical with the $2.5-billion mixed-use complex.

A pair of 46-tower towers - featuring a combined 300 condominiums - are now rising at the back of the property at 2025 Avenue of the Stars in Century City.  The twin buildings were designed in the shape of Reuleaux triangles by architecture firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, a nod to the iconic Century Plaza office towers across the street.

The project's other component - the 50-year-old Century Plaza hotel - is being transformed into a 400-key Fairmont hotel with 63 condominiums and 93,000 square feet of commercial space.  Gensler and Marmol Radziner are designing the adaptive reuse project, building off of the original design by Minoru Yamasaki.

Open space amenities at the project are being designed by Rios Clementi Hale Studios.

Completion of the Century Plaza development is expected in 2019.

The project may be joined in the near future by another high-rise condo complex opposite Avenue of the Stars, as well as the arrival of the Purple Line subway in 2026.
