EAH Housing has announced the start of construction for its latest development in the City of West Hollywood.

Marigold West, which is being built in partnership with the St. Joseph Center, will be a senior affordable housing complex located at 1041 N. Martel Avenue. Plans call for 50 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments - ranging from 344 to 966 square feet in size - which would be reserved for residents aged 62 and older. Half of those apartments would be dedicated to  persons experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

“Marigold West marks our latest development in Los Angeles County and another step forward in addressing the region’s housing needs,” said EAH Housing chief executive officer Laura Hall. “This development reflects our ongoing commitment to creating high-quality, affordable housing that supports residents and strengthens communities. We’re deeply grateful to the City of West Hollywood and our partners for making this vision possible.”

KFA Architecture is designing the project, with United Building Company serving as general contractor. The five-story, 47,472-square-foot building will incorporate amenities such as a community center and multipurpose room, a lounge, multiple amenity decks, and parking for 19 vehicles. Construction of the project is being funded with tax credits, as well as public and private sources. Completion of the building is anticipated in 2026.

The project is the second which EAH Housing has commenced work on this year in the City of West Hollywood, following the Lexington Gardens apartments now underway at 1201 N. Detroit Street.
