Completion is nearing for a new Courtyard Marriott hotel in Monterey Park.

The six-story structure, which replaced a series of small commercial buildings at 633 N. Atlantic Boulevard, will feature 288 guest rooms above retail space and a 365-car garage.

AXIS/GFA designed the contemporary low-rise structure.

The project was developed by Ethan Capital using EB-5 financing provided by ARC Regional Center.  The property is expected to target overseas guests from China, according to published reports.

Completion of the project was originally expected to occur in mid-2019.  An opening is now scheduled for August 2020.

The development site, located across the street from the more than decade-old Atlantic Times Square complex, is part of a growing collection of mixed-use and multifamily projects on Atlantic Boulevard.  The Courtyard Marriott is located just north of two new developments featuring hotels, multifamily housing, and retail.
