A proposed hotel near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and La Brea Avenue in West Hollywood has remerged with an updated look.
The project, which would replace an auto body repair shop at 1040 N. La Brea Avenue, is envisioned as a nine-story, 110-foot-tall building that would contain 91 hotel rooms, eight apartments, and ground-floor commercial space.
Following an earlier critique by the West Hollywood Planning Commission's Design Review Subcommittee, Culver City-based architecture firm NMDA redesigning the proposed hotel, including a reduction of the number of driveways emptying onto La Brea Avenue, swapping a green wall for a textured metal screen, and a change of color from dark gray to "satin silver gray."
A review of the design changes by architect Gwynne Pugh indicates a positive reception.
The proposed hotel has previously been linked to an entity known as RPM Investments.
