The more than $24-million project, which broke ground in early 2020 at 4760-4766 Melrose Avenue, consists of a five-story building featuring 39 apartments reserved for formerly unhoused persons earning at 30 percent of the area median income.

According to a 2019 staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, rents for the apartments at The Emerson are expected to start at $509 per month.  More information about the property can be found through its profile on the Los Angeles Housing Department website.

The building, designed by AC Martin, closely resembles renderings released in conjunction with the project's groundbreaking in 2020.  Besides housing, the low-rise structure features supportive services and a rooftop deck.
