A former adult daycare facility in Chatsworth is slated to give way for redevelopment with an eldercare complex, according to an application recently filed with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed three-story building, which would rise at 10963 N. Old Santa Susana Pass Road, is set to include 101 independent living units, 61 assisted units, and 20 memory care units. Plans also call for 145 parking spaces.

While architectural plans are not included with the project's case file, findings included with the application describe the building as being organized around a pair of landscaped courtyards, and having a "contemporary agrarian architectural character drawing directly on the ranch vernacular of the Chatsworth foothills: low-pitched gable roofs with deep eaves, stone veneer and wood siding, a heavy-timber entry gate and porte-cochere, and a standing-seam metal roof."

The project is taking advantage of development incentives and streamlining provisions offered to eldercare facilities by the City of Los Angeles.
